  1. Mario Carrillo is a Mexican computational artist and creative coder, whose work spans graphics animations, generative systems, human-computer interaction, playful websites, and other digital mediums.

  2. Carrillo is fascinated by forms that play with the mind and stimulate cognitive processes, sometimes as an unexpected result of his exploration of moving images. He is interested in exploring the perception of form, motion, and colour through graphics and code.

  3. About 4 years ago, Carillo established his daily art practice, the results of which the artist shares on Instagram. He says that the habit has been fundamental as both a learning process and research for the future artworks.

  4. Carillo created the official music video ‘Cardano Circles’’ for Max Cooper’s immersive live show, ‘Seme’, commissioned by the Salzburg Easter Festival. The collaboration references Gerolamo Cardano’s “Cardano Circles” system from around 1570, and how the mechanism turns straight lines into circles, a process involved in early printing press technology in Italy.

  5. Together with Bawny and Kikillo, the artist has his works displayed as a stage set during the FerxxoCalipsis tour, in 2024.
