Samuel Pietri is an Italian visual artist and creative technologist with a multidisciplinary approach, specialising in projects that blend emerging technologies with interactive and generative elements.
Pietri holds a Master's degree in Architecture and Building Engineering from the University of Bologna, where he developed a strong interest in computational design. His thesis, "Fibrous Aerial Robotics," explored using drone swarms and inflatable formworks to create architectural envelopes.
As a Creative Technologist at fuse* design studio, Samuel worked on cutting-edge installations and performances worldwide. His research has since focused on generative models, simulating natural processes, and exploring the intersections of computational design and creative coding.
In his latest explorations, Samuel investigates the limits of human visual perception. By challenging the boundaries of sensory experience, he seeks to reveal unexpected experiences and explore the intricate relationship between visual perception and the interpretation of reality.
In 2022, Samuel collaborated with sound designer and composer Riccardo Bazzoni to create the visual experience CHRYSALIS-EXUVIA, presented at the Modena Music Festival, and the cover of the Chrysalis album.
