"True completeness arises only when the digital and physical worlds intertwine."
In DigiScape, KeJyun WU reflects on our evolving relationship with nature and the future possibilities of virtual reality. WU explores the concept of 'Artificial Nature'–digital landscapes that mimic organic forms–offering a perspective that confronts viewers with the unsettling prospect of a world that might one day exist only as a digital memory.
Blending digital media with algorithmic image generation, WU constructs environments that emulate the natural yet carry an undercurrent of vulnerability and impermanence. Some works, inspired by phenomena like Taiwan’s luminescent "blue tears" and the dappled light of forested spaces, allow visitors to engage with meditative digital scenes, each resonating with a quiet homage to the organic world. Others, dynamic and responsive, hand the audience control to change the season or weather with–quite literally–a wave of the hand.
WU envisions a hybrid space where digital artistry evokes ecological wonder while reminding us that, while technology connects, it also demands careful stewardship. His work invites viewers to navigate this intersection thoughtfully, engaging with each piece as both an aesthetic experience and a subtle call to protect the realities that inspired them.
