Fine Print brings together Ana María Caballero and aurèce vettier, two artists redefining the boundaries of contemporary poetics, presenting concise surveys of their respective bodies of work and unique approaches to the literary arts. 



Fusing performance, artificial intelligence, blockchain provenance, choreography and analogue generativity, Caballero and vettier gather language deep within the folds of the body and nature. In doing so, they invent new systems of signification, expanding the techno-ecologies of our present and future. 



Caballero’s oeuvre is well represented in this exhibition, which features her choreographic works Waiting Room and Mammal as well as two projects that explore analogue generativity: Fifty Ways of Looking at a Poem and Paperwork. 



For Fifty Ways of Looking at a Poem, Caballero invited different people to read and annotate the same poem, performing their experience of its verse via hand-written marginalia. The combined, iterative interventions in this series represent the collective evolution of readership. Language is universal—yet personal—and every reading pulls and pushes it forth.  



In Paperwork, Caballero’s performance-based, generative AI collection of paper sculptures, the artist materialised individual emotional responses to spoken-word poetry through the digital form. Included in this exhibition are two artist-owned editions from the series, rendered as physical sculptures for the first time. 



aurèce vettier's work consists in recreating, with the help of cutting-edge algorithms combined with intimate data – sometimes derived from dreams – a world that almost resembles the one we know, but not exactly – not unlike working with many dimensions in mathematics, or when delving into a book written by Haruki Murakami. 



In resonance with Caballero's work, aurèce vettier presents several emblematic AI-generated works from his series le travail des rêves, as well as a set of poems, “without our presence, the soil breaks down”, referring to the very last sentences of René Daumal's unfinished work, Mount Analogue.


Beyond the works presented in the exhibition, Fine Print embodies the synergistic ethos of networked cultures and Web3, where intertextuality strengthens individual efforts to transform how poetry is exhibited, experienced and transmitted in the digital age.

The exhibition focuses on the question, "What is media art right now?" Through the lens of video, it surveys the landscape of digital art in 2024, showcasing diverse techniques that reflect the medium's current trends, challenges, and potential. By bringing together twelve artists—many of whom have backgrounds in science, design, games, music, and even ballet—Load provides a snapshot of this ever-evolving field.

As a nod to Barcelona's leading position in the video art scene, all works on view are in video format. However, only some artists used cameras for filming, making their work classify as video art. These are juxtaposed with artists who generate their art on the computer. The focus of the show is on the variety of methods—generative art, data visualisation, filming, and AI-powered deep learning—that artists could use to produce video, emphasising both the creative journey and the final result.
Each artist will present a mini-solo show, with all nine gallery screens dedicated to their work for eight minutes. This creates a comprehensive two-hour experience, allowing viewers to immerse themselves fully in each artist's unique vision.gital post-production to add generative elements or CGI.
The question "Is it art?" has permeated various levels of discussion, to the point where it has almost become a meme. A 1993 TV show with the same name bluntly questioned whether contemporary artists were truly producing art, reflecting the public’s scepticism towards works beyond traditional painting or sculpture.


Digital art, in particular, has often been seen as an outsider even within the art world. Major national art critics dismissed digital artworks as mere screensavers or extremely intelligent lava lamps as recently as 2023, so this predisposition remains alive and well.

Ultrasonido, 2024

Ultrasonido is a dynamic evolution of Paperwork’s system of performance-based analogue generative verse that will result in a sculpture (edition of three), co-created with both audience and AI. 

During the opening, the artist reads a selection of poems in English and Spanish, and the responses to these works are broadcast live on screens. The words will gradually shape a sculpture, inspired by the architectural elements from Gaudi’s buildings. 

Throughout the exhibition, visitors will continue to submit their reactions. These responses will feed into an AI algorithm, evolving the sculpture in real time. By the end of the show, three sculptures will be created, with one of them being donated to a local institution. Additionally, Caballero will record a video reading the final collection of words.
