In his exhibition at Load, Adesola Yusuf brings together works that explore renewal, cyclical states, and the unseen tensions that shape daily life. Born during an annual visit to his childhood home, the series under the working name Unshackled traces how small personal moments carry spiritual weight and how economic and security pressures shaped those early experiences.

Working with symbols sourced from the public domain and the wider internet, Yusuf redraws, repaints, and recomposes them through a process he likens to playing Tetris — rotating, breaking apart, and reassembling forms until they take shape as a coherent myth. Each work carries the energy and the kinetic force of continual revision. Taken together, the series creates a path through memory, belief, and release, constantly shifting between what once moved and what has learned to rest.
