Jason Ting's "Origins" is a body of work curated from a collection of animations created daily over the past four years using TouchDesigner and GLSL code. Together, they present a surreal vision of imagined beings, depicting the formation, development, evolution, and eventual flourishing of life.

Drawing inspiration from natural sights and forces like flowing water, falling rain, and shape-shifting clouds, these works add an unexpected twist: particles fall from strange sources, light energetically flows and pulses, and colour fields morph in mesmerising ways. This creates an otherworldly realm that inspires wonder and provides a space for reflection and calm.

Upon entering the gallery, viewers encounter subdued, monochromatic works on the entrance wall, evoking the primordial beginnings of the world. As they progress through the gallery, the front and side walls display works that feature increasing light, colour, and energy. Finally, in the round room, a vibrant, immersive artwork creates a dreamlike space, allowing viewers to rest in its surreal beauty​​.
