The Body is
a mirror
a projection of our inner world
a vessel for held and unspoken feelings
a fragment of a larger soul
a delicate balance
a world of organisms
the planet Earth
a universe within
Beautiful
Auntiescapes explores the body as a living landscape, a terrain that renews, remembers, and responds to unseen forces. Building on earlier investigations into beauty, skin, and societal expectation, the exhibition turns inward to examine how energy, emotion, and cultural conditioning inscribe themselves onto the physical self. Each piece centres on a single, sustained scene in which time unfolds gradually, the viewpoint fixed while the landscape shifts, morphs, and evolves. The pacing is intentionally slowed, reclaiming landscape from its role as background art and turning it into a space for contemplation.
Across AI-generated works and an interactive installation, the body becomes geological, layered with time, shaped by cycles, and inseparable from its environment. Hot Bod and Cycles address menopausal transformation and bodily renewal. Homebody and Falls present what appear to be surreal landscapes, a smoking volcano, a cascading waterfall, but on closer inspection, reveal themselves to be composed entirely of epidermis, flesh, and aunties. The approach sits between Western and Eastern landscape traditions: the fixed viewpoint borrows from the Western mode of the observer looking in, while the content echoes Eastern shanshui philosophy, where one is not separate from nature but embedded within it. Flesh turns inside out, scale is exaggerated, and the body becomes the earth itself.
At the centre of the exhibition, Mirror into the Auntieverse replaces the viewer’s reflection with a blunt, familiar auntie, confronting the internalised voice of judgement that shapes self-perception. What appears as humour reveals a deeper mechanism of control, one that is cultural, inherited, and deeply imprinted into our subconscious.

Temperance reimagines wellbeing as an act of continuous calibration rather than perfection.

The exhibition invites the viewer to loosen the labels and standards imposed on the female body and encounter it again as something unstable, complex, and alive.
