The Body is
a mirror
a projection of our inner world
a vessel for held and unspoken feelings
a fragment of a larger soul
a delicate balance
a world of organisms
the planet Earth
a universe within

Beautiful

Auntiescapes explores the body as a living landscape, a terrain that renews, remembers, and responds to unseen forces. Building on earlier investigations into beauty, skin, and societal expectation, the exhibition turns inward to examine how energy, emotion, and cultural conditioning inscribe themselves onto the physical self. Each piece centres on a single, sustained scene in which time unfolds gradually, the viewpoint fixed while the landscape shifts, morphs, and evolves. The pacing is intentionally slowed, reclaiming landscape from its role as background art and turning it into a space for contemplation.
Across AI-generated works and an interactive installation, the body becomes geological, layered with time, shaped by cycles, and inseparable from its environment. Hot Bod and Cycles address menopausal transformation and bodily renewal. Homebody and Falls present what appear to be surreal landscapes, a smoking volcano, a cascading waterfall, but on closer inspection, reveal themselves to be composed entirely of epidermis, flesh, and aunties.

The approach sits between Western and Eastern landscape traditions: the fixed viewpoint borrows from the Western mode of the observer looking in, while the content echoes Eastern shanshui philosophy, where one is not separate from nature but embedded within it. Flesh turns inside out, scale is exaggerated, and the body becomes the earth itself.
At the centre of the exhibition, Mirror into the Auntieverse replaces the viewer’s reflection with a blunt, familiar auntie, confronting the internalised voice of judgement that shapes self-perception. What appears as humour reveals a deeper mechanism of control, one that is cultural, inherited, and deeply imprinted into our subconscious.

Temperance reimagines wellbeing as an act of continuous calibration rather than perfection.

The exhibition invites the viewer to loosen the labels and standards imposed on the female body and encounter it again as something unstable, complex, and alive.

Mirror Into Auntiverse, 2026

Enquire

Mirror Into Auntieverse is an interactive installation that reframes photography as a live negotiation between body, machine and cultural memory. First presented at Paris Photo 2025, the work embeds motion capture and real time rendering within a nineteenth century Napoleon III mirror frame. When visitors approach, their reflections are replaced by animated aunties from the Auntieverse, niceaunties’ ongoing AI driven world building project that repositions the Asian auntie archetype as protagonist rather than stereotype.

The interactive mirror installation has been produced in collaboration with Load Gallery.

auntie nvwa, 2026

Enquire

A work of moving landscape art showing a smoking volcano flexing its legs, rotating its ankles, stretching, relaxing in expansive rolling pasture. The scene gradually reveals it to be made entirely of body parts, and eventually zooms out to reveal it as part of a system of living beings, then part of a larger auntie being, which is shown to exist within a volcano, folding back on itself both in a time loop and in the body. For a moment, tiny clay creatures emerge from the volcano, referencing the myth of the goddess Nvwa creating humankind from the earth.

falls, 2026

Enquire

A static scene of a waterfall peacefully existing and morphing. On closer look, the layers of the fall are composed of dermis, over time collapsing and reconstructing with the appearance of the full moon. For a moment, an auntie and her leg emerge in the falls, only to disappear, leaving behind her laughter, akin to glimpsing a creature darting by in nature. Water is a symbol of abundance and wealth. In the Auntieverse, falls remind one to stay focused on the flow amidst the rise and fall of landscapes.

cycles, 2026

Enquire

A static scene of an auntie continuously cycling, moving endlessly through changing seasons of a slice of the Auntieverse. It is unclear where exactly she is, except the ground she is pedalling is filled with dermis, flowers and crystals. Occasionally, goats accompany her journey. A bonsai plant emerges, the moon sets and the sun rises. Through the frozen cold the auntie takes a rest but still pedals away, until the scene returns to its original timeline and the cycle begins again.

auntgel, 2026

Enquire

The auntie angel patiently pours tea into a cup that never fills up, unbothered and moisturised, resting and chilling while the landscape around her flourishes from the flow of abundance and balance of energy. Eventually she rests while unknown hands balance the tea between two cups, getting a massage. The Auntgel is extremely patient while the world changes around her, waiting for no one, yet blissfully waiting. The impatient black cat wanders by. A major arcana in the Auntieverse.

leveling, 2026

Enquire

The auntie scales and runs about in a landscape of crystals, flesh and goats, in an endless parkour and exploratory exercise, accompanied by the moon, to reveal that she is on a planet in the multiverse, continuously morphing and leveling up. Even if the journey seems endless, the curiosity, the process, and stopping to pose for an imaginary selfie is what she enjoys the most.

junkbutt, 2025

Enquire

Made during a full moon, the artwork is a surreal reflection on the accumulation of old unwanted energy stored in the body, akin to junk waiting to be vacuumed out. The body is expressed as a storage system full of drawers and levers, squeaking and creaking as they are being opened to be cleaned. The moon has its own storage too.

bodybag, 2025

Enquire

Zips open and close on auntie’s various body parts to reveal mechanical insides, mini aunties and food. If only surgeries were conducted this way, it would be way easier and simpler. A reflection on the body as a holder of light, information and what we eat, and that even if it is a temporary home, it is to be cherished and protected.

NSFW, 2025

Enquire

A study on how it feels as an ageing body attempts to pick up exercise and movement. It may feel like one is picking up a building or getting an expired machine to restart. Even if it seems daunting, it does get easier. The dancing cat cheers auntie on.

full moan, 2026

Enquire

Made and published during the last full moon of the year of the snake, after an intense period of shedding old energy, the auntie heaves a sigh of relief with a gigantic last moan of the year. She does so while navigating a landscape of flesh, crystals and goats, scaling walls and going within flesh. Connected to the artworks Cycles and Leveling, though with a very different attitude, the artwork reflects on our complaints and dreams.

frogauntie, 2026

Enquire

The frog auntie is activated by moonbeam to integrate with the earth, burrowing within for lucid hibernation for a few moon cycles until it is time to emerge again. Occasionally she transforms into a layer cake. She understands we are all made of the same layer cake of differing flavours and form. An inward reflection alters her ingredients for change.

headspace, 2026

Enquire

An auntie's face is dispersed across four screens surrounding the Mirror into the Auntieverse. An ear on the left, an ear on the right, a close up of a face with a third eye on the backdrop terrace, and a mouth on the ceiling. Each feature opens and closes as flowers bloom and are gently blown away by the breeze. The effect is contemplative and immersive, as though the viewer has stepped inside an auntie's head, inhabiting her consciousness while she watches back.
